This is a five-panel (count'em!) piece of the five protagonists for the Amelia Atwater Rhodes books series.
yay! Reading from left to right: Danica, Zane, Oliza, Nicias and Hai. I realize I threw off the order of the books with Oliza in the middle and Nicias next to her, but I felt she bound the characters together better, thus finiding herself front and center. Danica is an entirely different deal. I'm not too proud of how she turned out. She looks too pouty or worried. I didn't do a good job on her face. I cheated and inked them all before I painted them in, thus messing up her face on a more permanent level. I gave Zane his awesome 40's hair too. Also, all the characters are (except for Danica) how I pictured them during the times in their respective books. So, really, they're all pretty much in their 20's or around that. Plead: Forgive my lack of ability to do skin tones too. I just cannot mix the paint. Also: Metallica's Ride the Lightning Album and song Low Man's Lyric enabled me to finish penciling Snow Patrol's Final Straw Album enabled me to paint the thing. Yay for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. they're by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.... and i feel dumb because they're considered teen fiction and I'm a little old for that, but I don't care. I get a kick out of them, and if they inspire me to do artwork, then they're not so bad.
